Operation Love In Action started with a humble request for pencils, and it has grown from there..
Princess Asie Ocansey of Ada, Ghana has taken more than 1,000 orphaned
children under her wing. She would like each one to go to school. Most of them are orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.
She has asked for help in empowering her people to become self-reliant so the children can pay their way for school. Organizations such as Hospice For Utah, and community members from around the state, are putting love into action. A group of seven traveled to Africa in January to teach about farming, personal hygiene & health, and to assess the need for hospice care. Most children only live a few years with
HIV/AIDS. They need medical, school and baby supplies and financial support for shipping. These African children make original bracelets and are now sold in the United States to help fund their education. The sale of just two bracelets will pay for a year worth of school for a student. The cost is $10.00 for one bracelet. If you would be interested in purchasing one please contact our Ogden office at (801) 621-6642.
If you are interested in learning more about Operation Love in Action, please contact Lisa Warner, social worker for Hospice For Utah. She is serving as the voice for the voiceless and forgotten children of Africa and would enjoy speaking to your organization.
